Nation Media Group

Nation Media GroupThe Alfred Friendly Press Partners and Nation Media Group (NMG) have worked in partnership to bring 11 fellows to U.S. newsrooms. The Kansas City Star has been a big supporter of this initiative hosting seven NMG fellows over the years.  In addition to the fellowships, Press Partners President Randall D. Smith and journalists from The Kansas City Star conducted training workshops focused on enhancing the digital journalism skills of reporters and news managers at NMG.

NMG founded by His Highness the Aga Khan in 1959 has become the largest independent media house in East and Central Africa.  It has been quoted on the Nairobi Stock Exchange since the early 1970s.  As the leading multi-media house in the East Africa region, it has print as well as electronic media which attracts a regular readership quite unparalleled in the region.
