The Center for Investigative Reporting in Pakistan launched its first report, “Representation without Taxation: An Analysis of MP’s income tax returns for 2011.” In a recent email, 2008 Daniel Pearl Fellow Umar Cheema said “we designed it partly scholarly and partly journalistic to address both sides. Probably, the first of its kind released anywhere in the world carrying data of all politicians.” The report has been well-received by domestic and international news organizations.
